Dispatcher - LaPorte, TX General Summary: Contribute to the smooth running of the terminal operation by efficient utilization of manpower and equipment through directing and controlling the efforts of drivers and administrative personnel (where applicable) using discretionary judgment to enforce Company Policy regarding operations and complying with state and federal laws.

Review driver paperwork and all trip documentation and prepare them for forwarding to Headquarters. This review includes, but is not limited to:

1.    Distinguishing driver hourly and revenue percentage qualifiers, completion of all mileage and hours entries, and proper and complete descriptions of pickup and delivery delays for purposes of detention billing.

2.     Perform driver log check entries.

3.     Administer and document all petty cash disbursements and replenishments.

4.     Prepare purchase orders as required and match invoices to related purchase order numbers.

5.     Maintain inventory of office supplies and replenish as required.

6.     Track and record driver attendance records.

7.     Track driver physical and drug test requirements furnished by corporate safety department and remind dispatch of said requirements.

8.     Maintain terminal copy files of all MSDS, vehicle maintenance and vehicle inspection files.

9.     Handle customer service inquiries and requests and prepare and generate customer requested reports.

10.  Type and distribute correspondence upon request.

11.  Update on-time pickup and delivery records as required.

12.  Support the dispatch function by performing some or all of the following:

  • Take check calls from drivers and pass dispatch information to the drivers calling as assigned by the dispatcher.
  • Track and update Qualcomm records entered by driver. 
  • Assume dispatch/supervision responsibilities for a small, (5 – 8) fleet of drivers. 
  • Support dispatch/customer service functions with the assistance of the terminal manger in the absence of the main dispatcher.

MINIMUM 5 years CDL-A experience.  Applicants must have TWIC, clean MVRs, no preventable accidents or out-of-service DOT roadside inspections in the past 3 years.  OTR/System requires US Passport.
